Looking for a private family intensive or custom group date?
Reach out through the form below and we’ll design something that fits your schedule.
You don’t need horse experience. You don’t have to talk about everything that’s hard. Our facilitators and herd do the heavy lifting. Your job is simply to show up as you are.
Sessions are ground-based (no riding), trauma-informed, and paced so that both teens and adults can breathe, notice, and integrate what the horses are mirroring.
Scan the calendar above and find the event that best fits your family, group, or professional needs. Each description notes who it’s for and what to expect.
Use the form below to reserve your spots. If you’re unsure which option is right, simply select “I’m not sure” and we’ll reach out with gentle guidance—no pressure.
We’ll greet you in the parking area, review safety, and move at the pace of the most tender nervous system in the group. You’ll leave with language, practices, and a felt sense of peace to bring home.
For when you’ve tried consequences, conversations, and counseling—and you’re still stuck in cycles of yelling, shutting down, or walking on eggshells.
For young people who feel anxious, angry, checked out, highly sensitive, or “too much.” Horses receive them exactly as they are—and give honest, embodied feedback.
For the helpers who carry others’ stories. Our trainings and reflection days offer both practical tools and personal nervous-system care.
Parents, teens, and therapists consistently tell us that the horses helped them feel and see something they couldn’t have accessed in an office or living room.
“My 15-year-old and I were in constant power struggles. During our evening at Heartland, the horse refused to move when my son was checked out—and walked right toward him when he finally said how overwhelmed he felt. We didn’t fix everything that night, but we both left with a different kind of respect.”
— Parent of a high school teen
“My client integrated more in one morning with the horses than in months of talk therapy. The metaphors were theirs, not mine—and they’re still referring back to that experience.”
— Licensed therapist
“Our youth group came out tense and scattered. We left laughing, more honest with each other, and with shared language about noticing when we’re in ‘horse brain’ vs. ‘human brain.’”
— Youth pastor
If you don’t see your question here, simply ask in the form below. There are no silly questions—especially when it comes to safety and teens.
Yes. All of our work is done on the ground—no riding—and every session begins with clear safety guidelines. We work in small groups with seasoned horses and trained facilitators, and we adjust activities based on each teen’s comfort level. No one is ever pushed to do something they’re not ready for.
No. The horses respond to your body language and nervous system—not your words. While there is space for optional sharing and reflection, you and your teen are never required to disclose details you don’t want to share. Many families appreciate that the focus is on what’s happening in the moment, not retelling everything that’s happened at home.
That’s very normal. You can let them know that there is no pressure to talk, perform, or be fixed. They can simply be with the horses, notice what they feel, and opt in or out of activities. Some parents attend a first evening alone to experience it themselves, which often helps their teen say yes to a later date.
Please dress for the weather in clothes you can move in and don’t mind getting a bit dusty. Closed-toe shoes (like boots or sturdy sneakers) are required around the horses. Bring a water bottle and any seasonal layers (hat, gloves, sun protection). We’ll provide all horse-related equipment.
Our events are experiential coaching and educational groups, not psychotherapy, and are not billed to insurance. Licensed therapists are part of our facilitator team, and we’re happy to collaborate with your existing providers. Professional trainings are designed for therapists and leaders to integrate equine-assisted tools into their own scope of practice.
Use this form to register for a specific date, join a waitlist, or simply ask a question. We’ll respond within 1–2 business days with next steps, pricing details, and any forms you’ll need.
Tell us who you are, who you’re coming with, and which event or dates you’re interested in.
We respect your teen’s privacy and your time. Your information will only be used to coordinate events at Heartland Estate.
